Christians are known for promoting committed, monogamous marriages, often elevating marriage and family as the supreme success. Being made in the image of a triune Creator implies that we are built for relationship, but what happens when sin enters the picture? Many of us may feel trapped and alone in marriage. Others of us may wonder why God has not brought our "soulmate," and how we are supposed to find relational fulfillment and community as single people. We tend to believe the lies of our culture--that sex and romance is ultimate, that our own romantic satisfaction is the goal, and that the purpose of marriage is to make us happy. True Christianity counters these lies. Marriage and singleness happen to both be affirmed in Scripture. The same Messiah whose heart beats for the church, his Bride, was a celibate Savior, completely content and fulfilled by his relationship with the Father.

Whether you are married, widowed, divorced, single, dating, celibate, happy, tired, surrounded by loved ones, or feeling helplessly alone, the Christian faith has something to say to you.
